A Little Slice of Watamelon Fruits Week Challenge
Tube top-vintage
Capri's-gifted
Shoes-gifted
Tie as belt-gifted
Cuff-Vintage
Heels-gifted
The Fruits Week Challenge for today is Watermelon. Now, I obviously could not get away with wearing this to work, but it would totally be fun to go out in. It is a good mix of casual and funky fun. I almost didn't buy this tube top. It is pretty old and there was a snag and tiny hole in it. But ultimately, I decided that I could not leave the shop without it. I mean, come on, how many times do you run into sequined perfection? By now you should know that my love for glittery pretty pieces runs deep (as also seen here and here) and this tube top was no exception.
I am loving how this challenge is helping me to look to such colorful inspirations!

Your red jacket is awesome and the wide leg sailor pants....awesome-r! I love this look.
I love thrifting. About 80 to 85% of what I own was thrifted. My sis doesn't like thrifting for all the reasons you mentioned but me, I don't mind at all for all the good reasons you've also pointed out. Friends see my wardrobe and think that I have a lot of money to throw away on clothes. I know I don't.
The good thing about thrifting here is that the clothes come from different parts of the world, mostly Asian brands and most of the quality is great.

Serious bragging rights you've got there, Frannie! State Senator! Wow! Kudos to Conner!
Now I've seen a lovely way to style my brown skirt. Cute look.
I wish I knew suggestions to give about Kaden. I'm sorry that I don't.

I understand its good to be responsible about spending money, but when a Giorgio Armani item is that dirt cheap you'll be needing jail to keep me from getting them. Looooove your dress; all the pockets and buttons! it's so fab with the leo shoes.

Love your relaxed look. Acceptance of people from a different culture, ethics, sexuality, color, e.t.c is something a lot of people (myself inclusive) need to learn. I think that it's an individual thing. And is a pointer to how open-minded and humane someone truly is. I think that at first there is the shock to overcome and then if someone is open-minded they become accepting of the other person.
I must confess I did wonder about some of your work outfits, but you're lucky τ̲̅☺ have such relaxed dress code at work. I like the occasional power suit myself but on the regular I don't. Cute monochrome look. Love your necklace.

Perfectly melony! I love the sequined top. I actually just thrifted a sequined bolero. I couldn't leave it behind though it might only get a little wear. Great use of a tie!

Adore sequin, it adds so much fun to an outfit. I adore mixing mine with relaxed and casual pieces, ala J.Crew style. You've done a great job styling yours here!! Have a wonderful week. xx veronika

Shasie, you can go to http://www.meganmaedaily.com/2011/05/fashion-challenge-fruits-week.html?showComment=1306901003805#c5509525030188009610 to find more information. It is a challenge set up by Megan Mae (Megan Mae Daily) and Keely (Casual Chic Kiki) where they picked a fruit everyday for inspiration. I have dropped the fruit week ball, but you can do one or all six and it ends on Saturday, so you still have time to participate if you like.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment on the top. I really appreciate that!
