Mission #20, Day 4--Leather Vest

Hey everyone.  Still feeling under the weather (which is the polite way of saying that right now I feel like curling up and dying), but wanted to share with you the fourth look for Mission Week.

Because I feel like death warmed up, I'm gonna keep it short today and just say Happy Halloween and gorge on candy for me.

Mission #20, Day 3--Fur Vest

I gotta say, this faux fur vest I purchased shopping with my sister in law last year has definitely made a dent in rotation.  And with the fall season in full swing, it was one of the perfect contenders for Mission Week.

I gotta keep it short tonight.  I'm fighting off what appears to be a pretty vicious cold--fever, sore throat, stuffy nose, can't breeeeeeeeeathe.

Which is ironic considering that I got my first ever flu shot last week.  Go figure.  But the bronchitis that my co-worker had a couple of weeks ago must be just now rearing its evil head.

Yay hot tea.  And Vix.

Mission #20, Day 2--Cargo Vest

The other MVP vest-wise in my closet making an appearance for Mission Week?  This Old Navy cargo vest.  Originally, it was kind of a blogosphere trend, but I fell for it and I'm glad I did because it has more than paid for itself.

These photos are a month or so old.  The gorgeous weather in these photos is a far cry from the dark, drizzly weather we had today.  I'm already missing the warm summer sun.

In fact, we are expecting snow this week.  It has been ages since it snowed on Halloween.  As a kid, I remember always wearing a winter coat, heavy tights and boots with my costume.  My kids have yet to experience a snowy Halloween.

Won't bother me, though.  Kaden is "too cool" to trick or treat with his parents anymore.  And although I've taken the kids trick-or-treating every single year, this year Patrick's taking over the duty and I'm on candy at the door patrol.

I'll miss seeing my kids go door to door, but I am excited at the prospect of kicking back.  With an enormous bowl of candy at my disposal.

Mission #20, Day 1--Denim Vest

This denim vest that used to be a denim jacket is by far one of the MVPs of my closet.  It works well with every season and nearly any outfit and thus works perfectly for Mission Week.

Our weekend was pretty close to perfectly relaxing mixed with productive.  I did get my bath, hot tea and naps in, but we also did a lot of out of the house things.

I convinced Patrick that pedicures were not just for girls and that we deserved one after the hellacious monthssss we've had.  He was impressed.  We also took advantage of one of the last Farmer's Market weekends of the season (mmmmm cilantro jalapeno pesto).

And, we had our first ever trip to IKEA.  It was cool to get some ideas, but I'm not sure I completely buy into the IKEA mania hype.  It was quite dorm-y for my taste.  But it was pretty cool.  We did make our first new house purchase--curtains.  Fancy.

I'm not quite ready for another week--I could for sure use another weekend--especially with Halloween this week.  But, starting a week after a weekend like that can't be half bad.

Dear Frannie Friday--RELAX

This is the first weekend since we found out we were moving back in early August that we have nothing going on.  Nothing planned at all.  And it is the last one of that nature until the New Year (baby showers, birthdays and parties, holidays . . .).  So I plan on doing one or the following to relax:

Hot tea.  For some reason, it seems impossible to not relax when you have a cup of hot tea.
Hot bath.  Because Patrick and I shower in the morning and I'm simultaneously keeping three kids on track getting ready for the day, baths are few and far between for this tired mama.

PJs.  All day long.  I love getting dressed.  I love clothes.  But I think we can all agree that you can't go a comfier or lazier route than hanging out in your pajamas all day long.

Naps.  And sleeping in hopefully.  I haven't done the latter in ages.  And naps--late morning, early afternoon, lunch time, really any time--are the best.  Sleep.  It's amazing how much you value it as an adult.

Doing nothing.  And I mean nothing.  No chores.  No cooking.  No cleaning.  No internet.  Nothing.  Literally.  Don't even try to call me.  I'll be sitting on my couch watching brainless movies or sleeping all weekend.  Seriously.  Don't talk to me.

Peace out!

Thursday Mixer--Black Combat Boots AND Anjolee Review

By far one of the most versatile and utilized footwear pair in my closet are my black combat boots.  The are comfy, warm and add sass and edge to absolutely any outfit.

My daughter got them for me for my birthday last year, but I would guess the cost to be about $15-$20.  Even using the larger cost, it would make the current cost per wear a whopping $1.67.

 Top Left to Right- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Bottom Left to Right-1, 2, 3, 4, Now, 6

I also just got these jeggings last night to satisfy my recent comfy pants kick.  I loved the rich fall color and decided to pair them with my sparkly bomber jacket and girly peplum top.

Anjolee very kindly sent me over these beautiful amethyst diamond stud earrings to review.  They are so sweet and dazzling.  These particular studs come with a variety of gemstones for the center piece.  In fact, Anjolee customizes many absolutely gorgeous jewelry pieces--from bracelets to earrings to necklaces to wedding, anniversary and engagement rings. I chose amethyst because that is my birthstone (and my mom's birthstone and her mom's birthstone!).  I am very pleased with them.

They are small enough to not be overwhelming when wearing with a more casual outfit--like this one--but also fancy enough to be the perfect amount of sparkle to a cocktail, wedding or holiday party look.  Be sure to check them out--especially with the holidays just around the corner (ahem--husbands!!!).
