Wordy Wednesday--Snow

Strangely enough, it is the last day of November and to date, we have had one teeny-weeny snow sparkle this winter.  Pathetic.  And I am a sun worshiper always, but even I think that this is getting a little ridiculous.  I am much more tolerant of snow between Thanksgiving and December 26.

Share the Covers--Life on Mars

Lately, I've been kind of in a trance, so it seems fitting to share a cover of this David Bowie song . . .

And a pretty decent cover by Trey Songz . . .

Make it Work Monday #53

I've followed Little Miss Violet for a very long time and I have always loved her cool girl style.  She is stationed in Macau, but traveling around the world, her photos are always great and her style makes me feel like a total square because she's that cool, so I decided to take a cue from Violet and add some spunk to my look.

Mission #95, Day 5

This jumpsuit is totes military inspired and I love it.  This was a fun way to style it.  There's a lot going on here, but it works.  Speaking of a lot going on, I won't be blogging next week.  My family and I are going on a little staycation for the week.  I normally don't have strong feelings about Thanksgiving, but it was my Grampa's favorite holiday.  We would usually go to his house in Wyoming for the holiday and he was always so happy when we would.  Now, his house has been sold and under construction by the new owner.  This is the first real holiday we've had since he passed and so it's likely going to be a bit emotional.  So I'm taking some time off.

Mission #95, Day 4

I am pretty sure I am not supposed to wear this outside of a military base (and even then I think only Patrick can wear it), but this is Patrick's actual military coat from when he was in the Air Force.  And I love this thing.  Not only is it warm, but it gives me great pride to wear it with my husband's name patched on it.  The hat might have been a little too over the top with the military theme, but I decided I liked it enough to leave it on because dammit I'm an adult.

Mission #95, Day 3

Well today's the day.  Today my oldest baby turns 16.  SIX.  TEEN!!!  It truly is hard to take in.  My life immediately changed forever when I learned I was pregnant, but obviously tenfold when he was born.  I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday.  I was so young (19!) and naive.  I became an adult.  Like a for real adult.  In an instant.  He made and makes my life infinitely better and I am so proud of the man he has become.

I should also mention that he turns 16 today--on the 16th of November in the year 2016.  So it's going to be a good day.
