Dear Frannie Friday--Whole 30 Must Haves

Tomorrow I start my third Whole 30 venture.  I really do love doing the Whole 30--although sometimes it can be a challenge in many ways.  Now that I am a more seasoned veteran, here are some of my must haves for a successful Whole 30--

Thursday Mixer--Red and White Striped Shirt

I very much remember seeing this shirt in Marshall's several years ago, passed it by and then could not stop thinking about it, so I went back to get it several days later.  Needless to say, it was a good move.

I remember that the first thing that made me pass it up initially was the $20 price tag.  $20 for a shirt?  No way.  But alas, it has served me well all of these years.  I've worn it 17 times on the blog and countless times in real life as well.  I'm well under a $1 per wear investment.

Wordy Wednesday--Authenticity

For no particular reason lately, I have been thinking about authenticity and its importance in my life.  I'm a little too old to not be who I am.  Flaws and all.

Share the Covers--You Really Got a Hold On Me

I've always really loved this romantic, sexy song.  Here is the original by  Smokey Robinson and the Miracles . . .

And a very pretty cover by She & Him (aka Zoey Daschanel!!!!) . . .

Make it Work Monday #49

I've followed Sandy A La Mode for quite a number of years--before her daughter was born and she just turned 2!  The thing that I love about Sandy's blog is that she does a lot of matching outfits with her baby girl.  I am totally jealous that I wasn't at a place to be able to match with my only little girl when she was old enough to let me dress her.  Sandy introduces many smaller boutiques and I really love that about her blog too.  I decided to try to copy this fun little boho look from one of her recent posts.

Mission #91, Day 5

I had almost all of the exact pieces to recreate this look . . . except for the washboard abs.  But whatevs.  I'm learning, as I get older, to try to appreciate my body more for my health than to try to live up to unattainable aesthetic expectations.  I am healthy and I have four healthy children.  That's blessing enough.  But, back to Gwen.  This is again a testament to her punk rock look.  She pulls off mesh and plaid like a champ.  Natch.
