Thrusday Mixer--Windowpane Pants

I really, really, really love when I lust after a piece of clothing that I imagine wearing a hundred ways and I get said item and end up wearing it to death.  Enter these pants.  I lusted after them, then finally got them (and not for a sale price, nonetheless!) and have worn them 6 ways on this blog in just a year!  Not too bad.

I paid the full price for these babies, but it was still a reasonable amount of $25.  That makes the price per wear about $8 which for sure is not too bad.  Not to mention, I do imagine wearing them a lot more in the future in many other different ways!  They are perfect for work and seriously my boss and I both have these pants.  I was pretty impressed when I saw her wearing them!  Like a validation of my style!

Wordy Wednesday--Haters to the Left

So as a style blogger, I have grown accustomed to getting some negative feedback.  Usually this is unsubstantiated and certainly I know that it is something that every single blogger (particularly style blogger) endures at some point in their blog.  Some asshat sitting behind a computer thinking they are going to ruin your day by saying something mean.  Recently, I got an email telling me that this particular nobody had been following my blog for several years purely to make fun of my outfits and "watch my emotional instability".  They even let me know that they had invited their family to follow along!  Well due to way too many recent and unfortunate deaths of people my age, I am not letting these little mediocrities bother me anymore.  I'm going to continue in a positive manner--both in real life and on my blog.  And while the irony is not lost on me by bringing it up as if it doesn't bother me on the blog and thus giving this person the gratification of knowing that they did hurt my feelings with their comments, I know that it is something that everyone, but in this case style bloggers, deal with on the daily.  And the truth of it is . . . you gotta just take these comments with a grain of salt.  Haters to the left!  You do you!  And at the end of the day, I meant what I wrote back to this person.  And that was--thanks for reading!

Share the Covers--Black Hole Sun

Today is my little sister's birthday!  Yay!

On an unrelated note, here is an original version of the song Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden . . .

And an amazingly fun cover by Haley Reinhart . . . (obsessed with this YouTube channel of jazz covers of alternative and hip hop songs)

Make it Monday #43

You know those girls who are so pretty/toned/stylish/smart that you just haaaaaaate them . . . but they are so nice that you can't hate them?  That's Lacey from My Boring Closet.  She is a fellow Colorado blogger who hails from Florida.  She has a background in acting and is just as gorgeous in person as she is in her stunning blog photos.  Be sure to check her blog out for her not even close to boring closet pieces!

Mission #85, Day 5

his casual look is an easy and fun one to recreate from Ms. Palmero.  Of course, we again have a mix of prints (she really seems to be a fan of plaid which I completely understand and admire) and another look with the flats she wore in another look from this week, which again I admire.  She is one celebrity that I enjoy being inspired by sartorially because she really seems to utilize her entire closet--not just wear something and then it is never seen again.  Truly, a fashion girl at heart.

Mission #85, Day 4

And again another piece that has been remixed for a second time just this week--the orange blazer.  This look in particular is ripe for brunch with the girls.
