Make it Work Monday #28

I've followed Lisa's blog Respect the Shoes since my early on blogging days.  She remains style inspiration to me to this day, although I do believe this is an older look of hers.  And her Instagram page is on point--for sure check her out!

Mission #71, Day 5

It seriously doesn't really get more western than these photos--this fringed suede skirt came just in time.  Yes, I did fall for this skirt and buy it and anxiously await its arrival.  And?

Plus--cowboy boots.

Mission #71, Day 4

To me denim on denim = western.  Add a hat, some low studded booties, a straw tote and viola--y'all got yourself a western look.  This week has honestly been fun and one of the funnest Mission Weeks for me surprisingly!

Mission #71, Day 3

My Grandma got me these jeans waaaaaaaay back in high school.  At first glance, I wasn't a fan.  But I kept them because I love my Grandma.  Fast forward several years later when my sister and I went to the house of some guy I worked with.  He was a big hippie (like literally 6'4") and so we decided to dress the part.  These jeans and a peasant top ended up in my outfit and my sister wore a similar outfit.  We walked into a house with about 30-35 unwashed, dirty clothed, dreadlocked tried and true H-I-P-P-I-E-S.  We were totally overdressed.  Luckily, these jeans work great for Western Wear week.

Mission #71, Day 2

Crochet, beadwork, fringe and suede--all perfect elements of a western look.  We've had a really mild fall/winter, but these sunny shots were from a month or so ago.  Currently there is a light dusting of snow on the ground.  We were supposed to have a blizzard last week that turned into barely an inch of snow in Denver and even less north of that.  Then there was real snow over the weekend, but it's already all but gone.  High today--57.  I'm fine with it.

Mission #71, Day 1--Western

Thanksgiving week is here people.  Which means nice, home-cooked comfort foods.  And that seems like a good time for some good old fashioned Western Wear, which always reminds me of the movie Son in Law (I used to be obsessed with Pauly Shore--weird I know).  To me bandannas are a good representation of western--as here in my top and scarf.  Plus . . .  denim.  And straw in my tote.

I am super stoked for this week, although I am in complete disbelief that the end of November is next week.  But it is a short week at work and we had our family Thanksgiving this weekend up at my Grandpa's house in Wyoming.  So this week is just kind of about hanging out, which I personally can't wait for.   Or decorating for Christmas--which I will be doing on Friday.
