Toes in the Sand (I WISH!!!)

Music Playlist at MixPod.com

Ok, so this is a major milestone in my style blogging.  This shots are taken by me out in public.  Yep, just me, my tripod and the wide open.  One great thing about Colorado is its infinite beauty.  There are so many gorgeous opportunities to get some really great shots.  So I just need to get over all my insecurities and just get myself out there and do it already!!!!

That was my attitude and I held it pretty well, until this shot when some random kayakers stopped right on the bank next to me and made me nervous.  One guy said "that'll be a good picture", which was nice, but I opted to quickly pack up and find somewhere a little more secluded.  It's all about baby steps.

All in all, a great experience for me personally.  I will definitely do this again.  :-)  Any tips on taking self portraits out in the open are greatly appreciated!  PS-I promise I will stop talking about this "big step" soon, but it really was something I was proud of.

  1. I'm glad you made it out into the world - the sparking water is just gorgeous and totally worth the trip!

  2. Thank you Lyddiegal! It was actually quite liberating and relaxing-much more than I thought it would be. I appreciate your support!

  3. Eleanor-thank you for your sweet comment! Yeah, I complain about Colorado A LOT, but one thing always holds true--it is a very beautiful state. ;-) Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Yellow is one of my most favorite colors to wear. I love it!

  5. I think taking pictures by yourself is a huge deal! Congrats! I am pretty brave in public but I usually have Matt with me, so we can laugh if we get busted.
