Recipe for a Perfect Summer Day

Last night Patrick and I had our 8th and final wedding of the season.  More often than not, we find ourselves completely booked for the weekends with some event or errand or another.  But sometimes, like today, there are days where you have nothing to do but enjoy the day.  Here is the best recipe for a perfect summer day:

Warm, warm sunshine.   Today was 90.  Not a cloud in the sky.  Not a drop of rain.  A slight occasional breeze.  Perfection.

Lots of great people.  My cousin and brother stayed the night.  They were watching my kids while we were at the wedding.  And my cousin brought her son (same age as my son) and daughter (same age as my daughter).  We hung out all day and even some of the neighborhood kids came by (of course).  At one point we had 10 kids here!

A big, cool pool.   A couple of years ago, my sister in law was getting rid of her four foot deep 18 foot pool.  It has been the best hand me down we have ever gotten.  It's big enough and deep enough for everyone to enjoy together and not so deep that there is a danger to most of the kids.

Foooooood.  In the summer time, there is no need for fancy or expensive eatin's.  Summer time means easy. Some rolls, deli meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, chips, fresh fruit, fresh veggies and popsicles about covered it.

No schedule.  Nowhere to go, nothing to do, no worries.  Just laughing, eating, phototaking, swimming, drying, trampoline jumping, tire swing swinging, sunscreaning and chillin.  Ain't nothing better than summertime.
