For my birthday, I got a book of all the Sex and the City looks from the movie. I was stoked and could not wait to try my hand at some of my favorite outfits from the show. I've been wanting to give the below look a whirl for a while:
This is what Carrie wore to return her library books and simultaneously find the perfect place for her wedding. Sigh. Such a magical moment.
I think I passed. Cargo vest, red tank, flowy skirt, boots (which you can't see in the above picture) and hat (which she doesn't ever actually wear in the scene).
In case you cannot tell from these photos, I have felt like holy hell for the passed two days. I don't know if it is coming down from being stressed out or the flu bug that is going around my work, but something has my tummy in knots. And, I am slowly getting a fever. And chills.
Patrick, being the saint that he is, took Brielle to go see his niece Brynn sing in her choir concert tonight for me so it is just me and the boys.
In fact, it's been a hot minute since I did some bragging about my fabulous hubby-to-be on here. Allow me to gush it up now:
I've been dealing with a family crisis of sorts for the past week or so and I have been really stressed out and pissed off (biggest understatement on the blog to date). I have not been able to focus on much else other than the issue at hand with my family.
Patrick knew (obvs.) what I was going through, so this past weekend, he helped me watch my little nieces. My niece Anya just adores Patrick.
On Sunday, after I was off of Auntie duty, Patrick (on his own accord) took Kaden on a ride up to Estes Park on the motorcycle so that they could have lunch and just hang out. This left me time to catch up on errands, chores and just have some quiet time alone for a while.
The wedding has taken a major back seat lately. I had designed the Save the Dates, but done nothing else with them. Patrick ordered them to be put on magnets, got them, stuffed them into envelopes, got addresses and addressed them for me this weekend. Now all I have to do is mail them out!
He went with his dad back over to Men's Warehouse to get their suits fitted. And then came home and gave me an incredible massage.
And this is why he is the best man in the world. When I am stressed, he lessens it. When I am sick, he takes care of me. When he promises his niece he will go to her concert, he does and takes my daughter. Basically, I couldn't ask for a more perfect partner.
Olive Green Military Vest-Old Navy; Red Tank-Kathy Ireland, gifted; Charcoal Gray Skirt-George; Shearling Lined Lace Up Boots-Mossimo; Fedora-K-Mart; Earrings-gifted; Elephant Cuff-vintage; Yellow Belt-Elle
I hope you feel better dear. Being sick and being stressed too is a volatile combination. Hope everything works itself out and I know it will. It is so great that you have such a supporting man in your life. You look great in this outfit. You definitely nailed it. You look great in your Carrie inspired outfit:-)
