While I have been sporting bare legs and a wanna be premature farmer's tan for the past few weeks, Colorado decided to pull a fast one on us and snow today. I feel like I'm out of practice dressing for the snow, and my bangs were just not havin' it, but I have yet to wear these trousers or this blouse since thrifting them months ago, so this is what came out. I felt comfy in it, but for some reason, something was . . . off. And when I was taking these photos I figured it out. I looked a lot like this:
Remember that old school photo? I don't remember the icon's name, but you know what I'm talking about.
Anywho, the odds were against me this morning all right. First of all, it is way hard to get back in the swing of three kids and school in the morning after Spring Break.
Second, my mom's car died last night, so she was hitching a ride to and from work with me. Which is great as far as I get to catch up with and hang out with my mom, but also something else that I need to time budget for.
And, of course, the snow. Which also means people (read: me) freaking out unnecessarily on the road either being too fast and spinning all over or too slow.
But after all that morning hullabaloo was out of the way, it was an awesome day. I got a lot done at work, I got to spend time with my mom that I otherwise wouldn't have, I got to have a second bday celebration with Conner and my mom and my daughter got a big ole haul of clothes from her cousin, Brynn.
My mom brought an awesome chocolate cake over and bought a phone for Conner for his birthday. Now I know that for most seven year olds, a phone is not a good investment. But Conner is especially responsible and, needless to say, really psyched.
And, if it wasn't obvious enough, I found out that my daughter is in fact my daughter. You should have seen her tear through those two bags full of clothes with excitement and glee. Yep. She's my little girl all right.
Then Pat came home and said, "today was such an awesome day." Which is always so cool to hear, especially these days. I love him so much.
And I just got word that my sister bought a thrift store! She has had a really rough time lately and I am so super stoked for her! This is just great, great news and I am so excited for her! If you are in the Northern Colorado area and looking for a good thrift store, hit me up. I'll point you in the right direction. Yay Peeps!
With so much awesome going down in the beginning of the week, I think it can only get better. Especially since the snow is supposed to move out by tomorrow. Werq!

I love this look! Especially that Rosie the Riveter pose. Yes, I definitely remember that photo. Sorry to hear about your moms car.
