I am currently elbow deep in cookie dough and homemade icing right now. Every year I make about ten kinds of cookies, bars and other little goodies for Christmas. I will be spending majority of my weekend liking batter and assembling cookie platters.
To kick off the holiday baking sesh, my family always holds a cookie decorating party. We all bring some pre-baked, pre-frosted sugar cookies and some frosting and let the kids have at them. They usually have an inch of frosting and sprinkles on top of the cookie by the end of it, with frosting in the girls' hair and sticky fingers, but it always ends well (i.e. a sugar rush crash early in the evening ;-) ).
On the baking agenda: butterscotch haystacks, candy covered pretzels, caramel swirls, two tone brownies, mint chocolate brownies, white chocolate raspberry bars, lemon bars, rice krispie treats, maple walnut cookies and of course, sugar cookies.
Oh yes, folks, it's gonna be a busy, calorie infested weekend up in here! Don't worry, I'll take pictures of my finished products for you. I may not be much of a cook, but baking? That I can do. ;-)
Do you have any baking traditions in your house? What kind of goodies are you all preppin'?
In other exciting news, it is time to announce the winner of the giveaway for these boots that I am wearing today from Monroe and Main. The winner is . . . Oomph! So psyched about this because Oomph is one of the coolest mom bloggers out there. The girl has style, great photos and she's a mom which automatically makes her a bad ass.

Do you all remember the $20 discount to eShakti's online store that I recently featured ( remember this dress?)? Well the kind folks of eShakti have decided to extend your ability to take advantage of the discount code ROBIN0811. So if you missed it the first time, here's your second chance! This code is valid through December 31, 2011 so don't delay if you are interested. Second chances don't always come around this easy!
Ooh, every Christmas I eat about 10 types of cookies and cakes, but I'm not much of a baker and don't make any of my own. You gotta send some goodies to your readers' way! ;o)
