There is little more priceless than doing nothing.
Football season is officially o-v-e-r for the boys. We are yet to enter the every-weekend-somethings-going-on holiday/birthday extravaganza.
Patrick and I indulged in nothing yesterday for the first time in a very long time. There is little better than waking up at your leisure, planting your butt on the couch with a cup of coffee (which you sip, not guzzle) and doing absolutely nothing.
Not that there isn't stuff to do. My laundry pile is embarrassing. The dishes have been clean in the dishwasher for a couple of days now. Remnants of doing nothing are present everywhere. There's chicken I need to get in the crockpot.
But these chances don't happen often. Kaden is staying the night at a friend's. The younger kids are with their dad. It's just Patrick and I. And I have to enjoy this nothing while it lasts.
Well there might be one thing I want to do . . .
Patrick's a big animal lover. Much of what he watches on television is from Animal Planet, Discover and National Geographic.
For the past two days (between stuff like goodbye dinners for Patrick and running Kaden around), we've been watching puppy shows on TV.
Now, I really want a puppy. Any puppy. Lots of puppies.
