Blue Nile Giveaway
Recently, I was contacted by the jewelry website Blue Nile to review one of their products and I chose this cute little branch necklace. I figured that it would be perfect as a)it's winter and all of our branches are currently bare and b)we are adding another branch to our little family tree.
And guess what? Blue Nile was kind enough to send me an extra necklace to give away to one of you lucky little duckies. All you have to do is leave a comment below telling me what this necklace would signify to you and I'll pick a winner at random on January 15, 2014. Good luck!
I wanted to scream at my dog this morning. She's a little out of sorts at the moment, but typically she is so well behaved that you literally don't barely notice her. But this morning I noticed that the drawer for the trash can was pulled out. "How sweet," I thought, "the boys took the trash out for me . . . although they forgot to put a new bag in." As I went for a bag, I saw one of my daughter's new shoes in the middle of the floor. Uh oh. I knew where the other one must be--outside.
As I went outside, I saw that not only was my daughter's shoe outside, but so was the kitchen trash. And the trash bag from my bedroom. And a box of Kleenex. And a tube of wrapping paper. All scattered throughout the yard. And it wasn't even light outside yet. Great.
This, of course, spiraled into a whirlwind of other mishaps that caused everyone to be late this morning. And I blamed the dog for starting it.
But then my mom texted me and told me that her and her husband's dog, Paloma, the sweetest, most well-behaved dog ever, had passed away. I don't know how yet--she wasn't terribly old. It is very sad indeed. So, I forgave my dog because as much of a pain in the ass she was last night, she also is a part of the family. And we love her.
This is my absolute favorite photo of Paloma shown here during a camping trip with my brother. RIP Paloma.

Your red jacket is awesome and the wide leg sailor pants....awesome-r! I love this look.
I love thrifting. About 80 to 85% of what I own was thrifted. My sis doesn't like thrifting for all the reasons you mentioned but me, I don't mind at all for all the good reasons you've also pointed out. Friends see my wardrobe and think that I have a lot of money to throw away on clothes. I know I don't.
The good thing about thrifting here is that the clothes come from different parts of the world, mostly Asian brands and most of the quality is great.

Serious bragging rights you've got there, Frannie! State Senator! Wow! Kudos to Conner!
Now I've seen a lovely way to style my brown skirt. Cute look.
I wish I knew suggestions to give about Kaden. I'm sorry that I don't.

I understand its good to be responsible about spending money, but when a Giorgio Armani item is that dirt cheap you'll be needing jail to keep me from getting them. Looooove your dress; all the pockets and buttons! it's so fab with the leo shoes.

Love your relaxed look. Acceptance of people from a different culture, ethics, sexuality, color, e.t.c is something a lot of people (myself inclusive) need to learn. I think that it's an individual thing. And is a pointer to how open-minded and humane someone truly is. I think that at first there is the shock to overcome and then if someone is open-minded they become accepting of the other person.
I must confess I did wonder about some of your work outfits, but you're lucky τ̲̅☺ have such relaxed dress code at work. I like the occasional power suit myself but on the regular I don't. Cute monochrome look. Love your necklace.
