Staple It Together

Well I had an interesting morning.  My boys started school yesterday (fifth and first grade :-(  )I was at work for an hour before the school nurse called me to tell me that I had to go pick up Kaden because he had accidentally stapled his thumb while helping a teacher put things up on the bulletin board.

Poor little guy.  He had to get three numbing shots in his thumb to get the staple out (it was really in there).  Then he had to get a tetanus shot.

I feel like I wear this dress all the time.  I've also worn it here and here and my blog is only four months old!  It was one of my best thrifting finds.

The stars of my outfit, and my starting piece this morning, were these watercolor pumps.  Daryl, my boss, never says much about my clothes, but today he made it a point to tell me that he liked my shoes.  They were from my mom's winning shoe haul from a couple of weeks ago.

I was really lazy today and didn't want to do anything with my hair.  Usually when this happens, I end up putting more into my hair than I normally would to trying to actually do something to it.  I took a curling iron to it for the first time in forever to try to create effortless waves.  I forgot that my hair has only two styles-curly frizz ball a la Macy Gray and stick straight a la Carrie Season 2.

Anyone else glad it's Friday?  Praise the lort!

  1. This dress is so cute, I can see how it would be versatile enough to wear lots of ways. And my blog is less than a month old and I've repeated pieces, so I wouldn't worry. Normal people re-wear things! I know I can't afford to wear a head-to-toe new outfit every time I blog.

I hope your son is doing okay! What a rough way to start the year!! Poor guy :( at least it was a memorable first day of school, I'm sure he won't forget that one!

  2. Thanks Allie! I love this dress. It was one of those when I bought it I was instantly in love with it and it hasn't faded at all. My son is fine, thanks for asking. He bounces back pretty well. ;-)

  4. oh my goodness! Sounds like typical me in school. I had to go home from things like bee stings (multiple) to a doorknob to the face. I am crazy clumsy though. Hopefully he just had a bad day.

  5. I like how you tied the belt around the outside of the cardi!

  6. LOL! Yeah, I wouldn't say my son is clumsy, but very daring. He's already had stitches three times and he's only 10!

  7. Thank you Vanessa! It was the only option I had really. The belt is attached to the dress and without tying it on the outside, it left this weird half bow in the back.
