Let's get the ever so clever patriotic jokes out of the way now. Yes. I am either really early or really late for Fourth of July. I get it. I don't see why I have to be tortured with the obvious all day just because red and blue are fantastic together. Moving on . . .
I'm grumpy. I'm stressed. My body hurts and I'm tired. School is back on which means my schedule is tight and my to-do list is long. Ok, is that enough whining? Moving on . . .
We all have those days. What I appreciate about the bloggers that I have grown to love is when they are raw. When their topics are interesting and when they keep it real. Everyone has craptastic days. Everyone has flaws. Everyone has something going on and not everything is all teacups and tiaras.
Anyone who says their life is all rainbows is yanking your chain. PS-do you know the origin of this expression? I learned it on my mining adventure earlier this month. Nasty. Moving on . . .
To keep it real with you all. I've made some mistakes. Many, many mistakes in my life. I have chosen some not so great paths in life. There are a couple off the cuff that come back to haunt me. Every. Single. Day. The most frustrating thing about these hauntings is that I have to just grin and bear it. Cause ultimately I put myself into these situations and now I am paying for them. I can't blame anyone but myself. And that sucks. Moving on . . .
So today, dearies, you have to put up with my cheery little outfit that has now been tarnished with reality. Tomorrow's a new day. Sleep it off champ. Or, as Emily Blunt says in Devil Wears Prada-"Deal with it!"

It's not patriotic - it's nautical! Because red and blue and white stripes do look perfect together.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, we all have those crappy days... nothing you can do but hope for things to be a little better tomorrow.

I think that this could be my favorite outfit you put together. I promise, Mercury goes direct in a couple of days...All the blahs will dissipate for the most part.

Thank you Lyddie! It's a much much better day. You are always so kind.
ReplyDeletePhew! That's great news. Lauren's blog was the first one I ever discovered and I fell in love with it instantly, which is how I found your blog. I love them both and I would never want you guys to leave this crazy blogging world!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hope! They are clip ons and make me feel like I'm playing dress up everyday!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I don't want to always see the same fake emotion in a blog everyday, then you don't think the person is real!

I love this color combination! The stripes and red go so well with the gray blazer!
ReplyDeleteI'm on the hunt for a perfect red skirt, looks like somebody has a great one! Let's hope tomorrow gets brighter for you ok?

Thanks Shasie! I try to keep it simple, not to invading but sometimes a girl just needs to throw her hands up, ya know? Idk what happened to the other comments you left on my blog on the past posts, but for some reason they aren't showing up here. But I saw them and appreciate them very much. Thanks as always!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I really appreciate that!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you gotta bring a little reality to yourself. It's easy to get caught up in thinking things are okay. I'm sort of dealing with similar things. School about to start, to-do list miles long, stress out the wazoo. I sympathize.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I think you look very classy. I don't think of red, white and blue as "patriotic" automatically. I know there are some that do, but it's just such a classic pairing in my mind. I can't imagine fashion without the pairing.
Yea I've been having the same problem with the comments that people are leaving on my blog too...stupid disqus
ReplyDeleteI think they grey blazer keeps it from looking too 4th of July. It's much more chic than fireworks-and-picnics! That red skirt would be a closet staple for me, if I had one!
ReplyDeleteI honestly didn't think patriotic at all when I saw this outfit. That skirt is beyond perfect, I don't think I'd wear anything else if I owned it! Why can't I ever strike thrifting gold?? I must be going to the wrong places...
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sympathy Megan. Hopefully we can pull through together. I have a big day today. I hope it goes well . . .
ReplyDeleteThank you Vanessa! I was surprised because I put it on my want list, went thrifting a week later and bumped into it. If you think it, it can happen! Sometimes . . .
ReplyDeleteOh my dear Allie. I have not thrifted much in Boulder, but I'm a pro in Longmont. We should go together one time! For some reason, I have really good luck in Longmont!
ReplyDeleteSorry you were feeling yucky. But at least you looked super cute! I really think this outfit is awesome. The pencil skirt looks great with that striped Tee. And not too patriotic at all :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Kelley!
