Today is my baby brother's 23rd birthday. He is so freaking cool and I love him. Happy birthday Brotha Man!
These platform oxfords are probably one of my favorite scores from my recent garage sale shoe haul. They are super comfy and really cute. I've been wanting oxfords, but haven't been able to find any that were perfect for me. Then these babies walked into my life.
I'm not one to go on and on about the weather, but it is freaking hot. This is coming from someone who keeps a space heater on year round under my desk at work. That's when you know, it's freaking hot. Even my brief commute home, my bangle was sticking to my arm. Nasty.
And with it being hot out, it is exceedingly hard to get good pictures. You want to be in the shade, but taking pictures in the shade is a nightmare, so you just have to grin and bear it in the sweltering heat.
I couldn't believe when my mom gave me these fun shorts. They have been a part of her wardrobe and in constant rotation for as long as I could remember. I love the fun print and the high waist. Not only that, but they are incredibly comfy.
Remember how I was recently talking about how some people not into fashion constantly just "don't get" some of the things that I wear? This scarf was definitely one of those times. I got "are you a pirate/gypsy?" all day.
So, below is my best gypsie pose . . .
And my best pirate pose. By the way, have you seen the new pirate movie? It's rated "Rrrrrrrrr". Ha ha! I always loved that joke. I told it to Daryl today. He stared at me blankly with pity and confusion before letting out a merciful "ha".

I love your shorts look. Headscarves are great for dealing with summer-hair. That "so-hot-my-hair-sticks-to-my-face" look is so not in. I'd rather look like a fashionable pirate any day. I lovelovelove that taupe colored top.
