Goody Two Shoes

Today I took inspiration from Ms. Bradshaw.  I couldn't find a picture of it, but true SATC fans will remember the ensemble she wore in the episode where the girls escape to California.  In that episode, Carrie sports a pair of killer pumps that are two colors.

Well, you all remember the fantastic shoe haul my mom got for me a few days ago right?  (Who could ever forget????)  This woman is truly a woman of my own heart.  Many of the shoes I got were the same shoe in different colors.  When I saw an identical pair of these kitten heel sandals in black and white, I thought "score!  tuxedo shoes!"

No one even noticed all day and I was starting to think that one of two things were happening.  Either people honestly didn't notice or they noticed and thought it was so weird that they didn't want to comment.

That was until a fabulous fashionista, I'm gonna guesstimate she was in her 60's, was standing in line in front of me at The Wall (that's Wal-Greens for you crazy non-Dane Cook fans).  She was in a tribal printed tunic and cigarette pants.  She looked down at my shoes, looked up at me and I waited for it.  "You are wearing two different color shoes."  Just when I was about to thank Captain Obvious, she continued "more people should do that.  You look FABULOUS!"

Now that's what I call a great run in at The Wall.  I loved her so much, I even tweeted about her. Thank you so much kind older stylish woman!

Funny thing about the pictures of me in my cardigan, I was actually on the phone with my mom during those shots.  I would put the phone behind my back when I saw the timer go off.  My mom found this hilarious.  That's how a busy girl does outfit shots all right.

By the by, I almost had a minor panic attack when I read Angie's Facebook status warning that Blogger was down temporarily.  Oh hell motha truckin naw.  I am not about to go through that again.  Good thing Blogger is back.  I was about to go all paralegal on someone. ;-)

  1. tuxedo shoes! too fun.
I think it's weird when i'm wearing something borderline absurd and no one comments.
I don't know that I could ever love a pair of shoes so much that I'd want to buy the same one twice. Usually i steer clear of multiples. I always regret it, and I always love one more.

  2. This is so cute! I love the :mismatched" shoe look. I loved it in Middle school when I owned Chuck Taylors in 11 colors (fo' realz). I loved it when Helena Bonham Carter did it on the runway. I'm still trying to figure out an outfit where I can get away with wearing one yellow fluevog boot and one black. Black and white is easier than yellow and black.

  3. Thank you so much Lyddie! I didn't own any shoes in more than one color until now either but that's mostly because I couldn't justify spending money on the same two pairs of shoes.

  9. They so are! Thanks so much Lidi! I would def recommend the Four Corners. Not only is it cool to see in general, but there are homemade handy crafts to be bought all over the place by authentic Native Americans! See those booths in the background? Those were full of vendors!
