Three Ways Three Days Blue Casual Top

Okay my beautiful people, today is the 3rd, so it means it is time for another edition of three ways three days.  As you might remember, I missed my last one on the 23rd.  I thought very much about not doing it this time out of laziness.  Plus, I was already wearing this really cute outfit (above).  But, I was plagued with guilt over forgetting last time, so let's call this a half-ass attempt at following through.  I really love this shirt that my sister was just about to toss, so I worked around this.

Side note-I have had this ring since my freakshow days back in high school.

I actually like the way that this outfit turned out.  First of all, any opportunity that I have to sport my culottes is a good one.  Also, I like the subconscious pattern mixing attempt here.

By the by, please excuse the bandaid on my arm.  I had a fight with the hot oven while cooking dinner Friday night.  The oven won.

I know, I know.  A bandana?  WTF??  I have always loved bandanas.  I know that most people hate them and I am not sure that they are particularly "stylish".  Carrie Bradshaw was scrutinized many a time for trying to pull them off.  Let's face it, often times, they don't work out.  But I happen to love them and firmly believe that if you wear them with the right attitude, whether people like them or not, think they look good or not, you can in fact pull them off if you walk around like "yeah, what of it?" all day.

My stepdad likes to call me Aunt Jemima when I wear my bandana.

The Best Things in Life are Free

I'm just gonna come right out with this: money is a bitch.  None the less, the great thing about financial struggle is being able to put into perspective how much money just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, like . . .

Waking up on Saturday morning with barely a "to-do" agenda . . . .

Having your oldest son pick you a flower right before your outfit shoot . . . .

Having an impromptu BBQ in a park with someone who has always been there for you . . .

Watching your daughter be so proud of herself swimming under water in the pool and watching your younger son spend every waking minute getting in and out of said pool . . .

And the best thing about today was that when it was all over, we still have two more days together before we have to go back to the "real world".  I love all the little things (and people) that make my life special!

It's Here! It's Finally Here!

First of all, these shots are courtesy of my stepdad's backyard!!!!  Can you believe it?  It is hands down one of the best places to be in the summer.  This is the Big Thompson River.  Right now it is really high and really fast, but usually it calms down enough to wade through which is amazing!

It's kind of confusing, but I'll try to explain this the best I can without the TMI and too much detail.  With my oldest son, Kaden, is with me 100% of the time.  My two younger kids, I have shared parenting time.  In the school year, they are with me most weekdays and their dad most weekends.  In the summer, I get them most weekends.

When my kids are altogether again, it is such a magical time.  The closer my boys get in age (they are 10 and 6), the more that they just love to play together.  It is so wonderful--they are true brothers.  So, needless to say, I love my weekends in the summertime.

My stepdad was trying to talk to me while I was taking these pictures which was a little nerve wracking for me, but it was cracking him up because I would be mid-sentence and my self timer would go off and I would stop talking and strike a pose.

I am so stoked for this much needed, much anticipated three day weekend!  I get all my kids together for three days!!!!  We've got a lot planned, but it's all fun stuff.  That's what else I love about weekends.
