It might instill a desire to start cleaning and organizing things that he normally wouldn't.  And when he starts cleaning and organizing things he normally wouldn't . . .

It might make his wife smile at his efforts and enjoy some much needed relaxation time.  And when your wife stats smiling and relaxing . . .

It makes for the best Saturday ever.

Dear Frannie Friday--Interview Outfit

Today we explore the age old question asked by many a woman--what should I wear to an interview?  Here are a few tips:

Interviewing is stressful.  It's a chance to show a hopeful future employer your best self.  What they say is true--first impressions are extremely important and you obviously want to make it a good one.

This is tricky business.  You want to be conservative.  You want to show your personality.  You want to be stylish.   You want to be impressive, smart and business-like.  So how do you combine these elements successfully?

I like to start with a neutral palette.  Bright colors and patterns are fun, but browns, greys and blacks are a safe call when conservative is the goal.  Here I pair black and brown with a few gold accents.

In order to keep the youthful, stylish and personality in the outfit, try subtle details.  Here I paired a classic LBD with polka dot tights, a wide belt and a long vintage necklace. 

If you are having second guesses about something--go with your gut.  If your second guessing a hemline, a boot height or thinking that a certain accessory might be "too much", ditch it and try again.  You've got enough to worry about in an interview.  You don't need to worry about your outfit.  Build your confidence by feeling amazing!

Plan, plan, plan.  Do NOT wait until the last minute to try to figure out what you are going to wear.  If you do, chances are you'll end up in a hurried mess.  Think of it as your first project for this potential new job--show up prepared and ready to go.

Consider the place and the people who are interviewing you.  If you know that you are interviewing for is traditional, take that into account.  In other words, go for a longer skirt or dress and classy heels--leave the stilettos at home.  On the other hand, if it is a more urban place, feel free to be a bit more liberal with your look.

I don't want to toot my own horn, but I've always been a really good interviewee (toot, toot).  And I'm probably the most awkward person on the planet.  But it really helps to be prepared and part of that is to look and feel your best!

Well let's get the obnoxious holiday niceties out of the way--Happy Valentine's Day to those of you who celebrate.  I have never been much for the holiday.  Probably because I've gotten more pink stuffed animals with fuzzy hearts on them for my birthday more times than I can count.  But I digress.

Something I am excited about, however, is gushing over my faux fur vest.  I bought it shopping with my sister in law just back in November.  It was at Marshall's for $20.  Current price per wear?  $4.  Bazinga.

I also just want to say a quick thank you so much for the support I've received on my last post.  It's good to be ok with being human now and again.

These photos are actually a week or so old.  You can tell because here I am dressed very warm and comfy and this appears to be a gorgeous sunny weather goin' on here.  And today in Colorado--it was a damn near blizzard and I was dressed in far less weather appropriate garb.

I am in complete shock that tomorrow is Friday (I know right???  Time.  It's weird.).  I feel like this week flew by which is always fiiiiiiine by me.

Plus, I got all three kiddos this weekend.  And we've got plans.  Fun plans like making our own pizzas and Brielle is having a friend stay over and hanging out.  Can I get an ooooooooh yeeeeeeeah?
