Don't Be Alarmed . . .

MusicPlaylist

. . . that I got caught blaring Whole Lotta Love driving on my lunch hour . . . and singing and dancing to same . . . or . . .

that I went with something totally comfortable to wear to work today . . . or . . .

that my mom and I work and live within blocks of each other and therefore are able to text each other warnings of where the cops are hiding with their stupid radar guns . . . or . . .

that I am officially going bat shit crazy over every little annoying thing that comes my way these days including Kaden's football practice running an hour late . . .  I even prematurely posted my "all of August" looks yesterday because I mistook it for the last day of August . . . or . . .

that I should be doing about a billion wedding related things right now, but I am procrastinating by blogging and watching I Love You Man (Pineapple Express and Bridesmaids are next on the playlist) . . . or . . .

that I am avoiding painting my toe or fingernails until after the Honeymoon so I don't in any way hinder my upcoming mani/pedi this week . . . or . . .

that I am stoked as a schoolgirl to have only two more working days left before my wedding/honeymoon . . . or . . .

that I am not quite as stoked to have to get up early tomorrow to drop my ring and wedding band off to be soldered and then pick up my wedding dress and then get my hair colored (freaking finally!!!!) . . . or . . .

that I recently discovered the below GINORMOUS bruise on the back of my leg and have no idea where it came from (though I am currently blaming the Bachlorette Party).  Happy three day weekend favorite beatches!

Threesome Thursdays--Vintage Rust Dress

At this rate, I'm going to have to change the name of this series.  I keep picking all time favorite articles of clothing that were worn more than three times by me on the blog. #selfishbratwoeisme

At any rate, this is one of my favorite vintage dresses of all time.  Seriously.  I loved the color, the shape and the vintage fabric the minute I laid eyes on it.  It has proven to be quite versatile, which is surprising given its autumnal color.

So there is this particular park that I like to go to take my photos at, but it is all the way on the other side of Boulder.  Usually it is packed, but today it was empty.  Strange.  Well, here was why.

See those cones and caution tape?  Can you read that sign?  The park was closed today due to wildlife.  It turns out there was a bear stuck in a tree and they closed the park.

Being a Natural Born Rebel, I bypassed the caution tape on an offbeat bike path to take my photos.  Was this a good idea?

Well, I suppose I could've been ticketed/yelled at by the Boulder Police (we all remember how much they love me . . .).  And, perhaps I could've been mauled by a bear.

But I had already driven all the way across town and dammit, I was taking my picture at this park come hell or high water.

Needless to say, I got the shots, didn't get ticketed/arrested/made to serve more community service.  And I didn't get eaten by a bear.

So I guess you could say all's fair in love and blogging.  Or something like that.  This mumbo jumbo should translate into the following to you:

Patrick's out of town.  I've been "single mothering" it up all night.  I'm beat.  I'm sweating (we are on day 65 of 90+ temperatures here in Colorado--unheard of and record breaking).  And I'm delirious.

So let's just leave it at that and remember to email me your pics for the new e-party by Tuesday.  Oh and, watch out for bears if you're off of Arapahoe in Boulder.

Back to Basics and E-Party Part Two

It took a lot of self control to keep this look simple today.  For some reason I felt like challenging myself with a clean black and white ensemble.

Even though I had to keep slapping my wrist to stay away from adding a colorful scarf, belt, shoes and accessories, I really loved the end result.

I felt quite professional in this look.  I actually looked like a legit paralegal!  Go figure.  Sometimes it feels good to forget all the trends and wow factor and just go with what has always been in style.

So, as I started to say yesterday, I am planning a Part Two to the E-Party.  This time instead of dressing for the Bachlorette Party, I think we'll do something different this week.

From now until Tuesday night, feel free to send me your look for either attending my wedding or a traveling outfit (I will be on a plane for something ridiculous like 13 hours) or a honeymoon look (think beachy, casual yet cute).

Last time everyone did posts, which was great.  I love that!  But if you don't have time to do a new post and just want to send me a photo of a look for this, that is fine.  If you want to use an old post or photo, that's fine too.

I'm not big on rules (I'm an Aquarius), so it's kind of losey goosey, but whatever.  I think it is fun to do challenges.  So, if you're interested, be sure to email me at franniepantz@hotmail.com with your photo.

So for those of you who missed the last E-Party, fear not.  You can definitely participate this time. Or if you participated last time and want to participate again, that's awesome!

After all, Wednesday might be my last post for a long while--at least until after my wedding and honeymoon.  So why not go out with a party?  That's always been my motto anyway.

Woof you guys.  Seriously.  I was a bit queasy this morning.  When I got to work, it was on.  Full blown nastiness.

No, I'm not pregnant.  Or hungover.  I didn't eat anything funky or that could have caused food poisoning.  And I'm not even sick.

By process of elimination, you can do the math.  Good news is that a few Advils, a 7-Up and a bowl of baked potato soup later, I'm all better.

Luckily (sort of . . .) I had to go deliver financial documents to an attorney in a neighboring town, Louisville.  It's such a cute, rustic little town.

And even luckier is that his office was nearby these really cool railroad tracks.  Railroad tracks + time to shoot your outfit = happy blogger.

Funny thing is, though, the last time I wore this blouse, I was wearing my platform saddle oxfords.  Aaaaaand, I took my pictures on some different railroad tracks.

So, do you see this elephant bracelet?  My mom is moving down to Colorado Springs with her fiance in October.  Currently, she is packing up and getting ready to move.

One of the boxes she unearthed was my elephant collection from my youth and this bracelet was in it!  I so remember sporting this back in the day.

Isn't bumping into your old stuff cool?  Patrick prefers to have all his keepsakes out on display (this will change when we have our own house that I can decorate, trust.).  I don't.

All my old childhood shtuff is in boxes.  I don't get to see it everyday, but when I open a box of old random crap, I get all fuzzy and nostalgic.

In that same box were my old Quints (do you remember those dolls anyone?), a bunch of elephants and a couple of Dennis Rodman basketball cards (he was my old fashion icon.  I know, I'm a freak.  Funny how even back then I could give a rat's ass about sports, but was somehow able to turn it into something style related).

I had a few "wish I could've made the e-Bachlorette Party" comments.  I'm thinking of doing a Round Two, with a twist during the next week or so.  I'll fill you in tomorrow.  After I have a milkshake.
